| 24 hours after upgrading - initial thoughts... |
I drew the short straw again - someone in the office needed to be running Windows 7 - and it ended up being me.
Don't get me wrong - I love new technology - but I also dislike the trap of updating something that isn't broken.
The upgrade was pretty painless - everything seemed to work - except for the syncing of my mobile phone - I gave up on that battle - but will need to revisit sometime soon.
Windows 7 is certainly faster then Vista - and that all programs are faster - Google Chrome, MSIE 8 as well as Word and Outlook.
I have most of the fancy 3d look turned off though - just as I did with Vista. I also turn off all sounds as well - a trick that goes back Windows 3.1 when sounds were first introduced as the Windows opened or closed on the screen.
