It's coming into Spring time - lambs in the fields and Christmas is just around the corner...
But what are the web designers in New Zealand up to...?
The last three new customers that we have picked up have all had problems with their (now) ex-web designers. One web site project was only released 3 weeks before the owner decided that it needed to be handled by another web designer as communication had broken down and promises broken.
Another project was up for three months - basically until the first changes needed to be made and the web developer in that case refused to make the requested changes as he was "too busy".
The third case is possibly before the courts so I can't comment too much but revolves around NZ Copyright Law and the web designers refusing to hand over what the client (and ourselves) believe to be the clients commissioned work.
Is it that the rush of warm weather has gone to their collective heads...? Or does the web design industry in New Zealand really need a Code of Practise - more soon...
